A friend of mine who has her teenaged daughter in an online virtual school has this conversation she shared with me:
Friend asks her daughter: Do you want to go to the high school next year?
Daughter: You mean the one with security cameras and metal detectors?

We've moved into discussion about high school. Brianna wants to continue on in some way with art. She's not sure yet. So we've talked about the Arts & Communications Magnet Academy (ACMA) through the Beaverton School District. We've also talked about homeschooling and doing work through PCC. And then there's EdChoices.
Honestly, I've never thought we'd have this discussion about public school. And I've got mixed emotions.
