One huge thing to notice, the response from the lobbyists against online schools. "We're not going to wait until [online charter schools] are out of control." Okay seriously? This isn't methamphetamine or the swine flu; a scourge to be eradicated. This is school, and a fine one at that.
A translation of what he is saying is this (no, I am not being sarcastic, this is true), "We want to stop this before our union dollars that are spent on unionized teachers leaves our reach and goes to a public school that isn't unionized." That is what he really means.
Okay, guess what? In lieu of this huge article that has both camps whirling this morning, guess who called me while I sat in my dentist's chair this morning?
The local NBC affiliate that blew me off three times last month. They want to meet with me now. Huh....interesting.....I called her back. I'll keep you posted.
