Two posts ago, I referenced a post I did last fall about public school teachers that sexually abuse kids. It has opened up a lively conversation and also shown that truly the problem is the animosity between agencies that allow offenders to continue to do this. Once that loophole is fixed, I think a huge difference will be made.
Anyway, I have been following this story for the last week or so. Click here. Basically a substitute teacher has been arrested for soliciting a teenager for sexual favors. The story hasn't gone any further than that, and the one time the teacher made a comment to the press he has been surprised and said, "This is all a misunderstanding." And I can understand that. I know there are some unscrupulous teenagers out there who would like nothing less than to get back at adults. We do need to allow the legal system to work and do it's investigations. In other words, I am not saying this guy is guilty yet.
I am saying this is the high school I graduated from. It hit a little close to home this time.
