Did you hear about that horrible high school girl's basketball game back in January? Where the one good team (Covenant) just routed the second team (Dallas Academy) 100-0. The team that lost was a team that was a school of very few players, girls at risk, low income. The winning team was also a Christian school. Not cool on so many levels.
It was a total route where the girls just kept making huge plays, running up the score, and the coach egged them on. The lack of sportsmanship was appalling. Since then the school has forfeited the game, per the principal's request. The principal has also apologized. The coach did not apologize and has been fired. Appalling. And then I come across this article today of two rival boy's teams near Milwaukee, WI. Oh my word, I sat here at my desk and cried. What class! Hats off to the coaches who encourage their team members to act with class, dignity and sportsmanship. These boys just built years of character in one basketball game.
