Okay, I just checked our local PBS listings. Tuesday morning, okay really late Monday, however you want to split that hair--at 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, will be one installment of the compelling documentary "African American Lives". I am not kidding, this is beyond wonderful.
The next episode of it will be on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. where it's "African American Lives" all about Oprah. Because she is Oprah, she gets her own special title for it. Whatever, it's still good, and they talk to other celebrities other than Oprah.
Again, I totally recommend these documentaries in particular, I am not sure the concrete reason why, but they are heartwarming. Plus, this is fairly recent history. Only within two or three generations, we can trace back to slave roots. I do feel we need to appreciate that and glean whatever fresh history we can from it.
Get ready for a tear or two.
