Here is some text from my post dated August 3, 2007:
Imagine this. Granted this is a perfect world, but I am imagining this. President Bush, during his state of the union address states, "We are also proud to announce that as of this morning, all women in the United States have now completed and are certified in basic self defense." Applause applause applause.
He goes on to talk about how that was implemented, giving credit to those who put it in motion, what kind of tax breaks employers receive when they pay for such a class for their employees, etc.
President Bush continues, "We have programs in place so that all children in our public schools are taught basic self defense as well. The plan is to have them certified by the end of the school year 2008." Applause applause applause.
It's a little dream but you have to admit, it's kind of fun to think about.

Hey, I'm totally there with you. 9/11 is what finally got me in motion on this issue. Anyone who ever tries to hurt me or my kids is going to probably walk away disabled.
