Several months ago, I had this happen to me...
I bought some baby/toddler items at Target using a debit card. The next day I go back to Target to meet someone in the Starbucks that is in Target. I purchase my beverage with my debit card, and the cashier hands back to me my receipt and those register coupons for some baby items. Keep in mind, Target doesn't have a little club card like grocery stores do. I am only using my debit card here.
I point out to the gal, that is so weird. The 20 year old barista that is making my drink pipes up and says, "Oh, you probably used your debit card to purchase something recently."
My reply, "Yes, I know. Don't you think that is weird?" It's also disconcerting that she thinks that is normal. I think she got my point when I said that.
So I am thinking today, don't you think it's disconcerting that some satellite in the orbit somewhere will turn all of our clocks on our computers ahead by an hour? And that satellite knew that Congress had changed the dates for Daylight Savings time a few years ago? That bothers me just a little bit.
I'll say this a little more intelligently. Congress passes the new Daylight Savings Time, a memo is sent to someone at Microsoft to change the angle of the satellite and reprogram the date for Daylight Savings. Then suddenly we all wake up Sunday morning with our clocks changed.
I think that is a bit freaky.
