Jessica Liddell Art Scholarship Fund

As you can tell, I put a tribute to her on the homepage. I still can't believe she is gone.

Anyway, the news from the family has come. Jessica was an artist. She and another artist friend of hers, Eric, were attempting to open an art gallery in Stayton, OR. The goal was to showcase local artists, including herself. Now, if you have ever been to Stayton, OR, you would know that she was a woman ahead of her time. It is a small working-class town that doesn't have too many fancy things like art galleries. I don't know about you, but when I was 27, opening a business such as an art gallery was furthest from my mind. I was happy to have an apartment! I think she was a woman ahead of her age. My understanding is that Eric is keeping that dream alive to open the gallery, along with the support of family and friends.

You can donate to her scholarship fund to provide scholarships to art majors in her area. Two ways to do it, go to any Washington Mutual Bank and donate to the Jessica Liddell Fund.

Or, you can send it directly to her friends who have set up the fund. I have their personal information but don't know that they want it posted on the web. Go ahead and place a comment to me, or email me personally.

I will definitely be making a donation. Her legacy needs to live on in the future of our kids, and education is certainly a place to start.
